In the riverside grounds of the Regatas Club in Rosario, a new sports complex is located near the Paraná River, between a row of mature casuarina trees and a small cove for recreational boats.
The main objective has been to minimize the landscape impact typical of buildings of this scale and use. In this sense, the project defines its final form through the smallest possible volume that meets current regulations as well as the spatial requirements of the covered volleyball, basketball, and futsal courts, both in plan and in section.
A large gabled roof accommodates these needs while also creating a more harmonious relationship with the site and avoiding a tall, frontal façade.
This roof is materialized through steel frames and incorporates openings at both its ridge and its ends, allowing for natural light and ventilation.
Around the playing courts, four functional volumes are arranged: two containing restrooms and locker rooms, and two with stands. These structures are lightweight and are finished externally with cement boards and internally with wooden panels that integrate with the sports flooring.
