The project can be understand as a room or a little house.

Halfway between architecture or furniture, intervention can be desassembled and reused.

Program:
One of the most recurring needs in everyday residential architecture: a new room upon the birth of a first child.
Limited financial resources and tight timeframes.

Location:
Small apartment. No possibility of exterior expansion: the project is an interior expansion.

Material / Construction:
Recycled phenolic multi-laminate panels, cut into strips. Modular elements sized to the maximum dimensions that can be carried by elevator.
Dry assembly using joints and threaded rods. Resting on the floor. Stabilized with lateral end panels.
The wood strips always follow the same direction, varying in width and spacing to create different densities and textures depending on their function:
a) Solid wall b) Permeable wall c) Solid ceiling d) Mattress support slats

Hardware:
Simple hardware achieves the necessary conditions of structural stability and operability.

Uses:
Bed/crib, clothing storage, play area.

Boundaries:
Three closed sides and one open to the exterior.

Access:
The lateral end panels have doors designed at three different scales and possible uses:
a) Traditional door (“room” use)
b) Child-scale door (“house” use)
c) Stable-style door (“playpen” use)
